Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 6. On June 6, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with ICAO Secretary General Salazar in Beijing.

Qin Gang said that China has long served as a first-class council member of the International Civil Aviation Organization, supporting and promoting international cooperation in the field of civil aviation with practical actions. The “Belt and Road” cooperation initiative and the global development initiative proposed by China are highly consistent with the concept of “no country left behind” advocated by the International Civil Aviation Organization. ICAO is welcome to actively participate in relevant initiatives. China appreciates ICAO’s correct stance on Taiwan-related issues and hopes to continue to give China firm support.

Salazar spoke highly of China’s important leading role in the development of the world’s aviation industry, saying that ICAO has always adhered to the one-China principle and is willing to work with China to promote the continuous deepening of international civil aviation cooperation among countries.
