Qatar’s Prime Minister announces historic normalization of relations with Israel

Jeddah – Qatar is the first country in the region to establish normal relations with Israel, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has revealed. The prime minister revealed Qatar’s stance on establishing diplomatic relations with Israel in a special interview given to Fox News Network in America. Qatar’s position has been clear since the nineties and the Oslo Accords. Qatar is the first country to establish normal relations with Israel after the signing of the Oslo Accords. At that time there was hope that peace would be established in West Asia.
Qatar established commercial relations with Israel in 1997. After this, the Prime Minister of Israel visited Qatar. This was followed by several diplomatic visits to each other. Since then, Qatar has continued to work closely with the Israeli side. They had a disagreement with Israel during the 2008 Gaza War. Following this, they decided to close the Israeli offices in Qatar.
Qatar is ready to normalize relations with Israel if a clear political future emerges for the Palestinians. Qatar wants normal relations with all countries including Israel and Palestine. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Althani said that Qatar hopes that Israel and Palestine live together in peace.
