Doha: Qatar will install 150 electric vehicle charging stations in the country this year. Qatar authorities have stated that they aim to establish about a thousand high-speed electric charging stations by 2025. Mohammad Khalid Al Sharshani, head of the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency, explained this.
Qatar is installing electric vehicle charging stations as part of adopting sustainable methods to reduce carbon emissions in the country. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Transport and Communications are planning to establish electric vehicle charging stations in cooperation with each other.
Al Shirshani noted that the new electric vehicle stations to be installed will help Qatar reach its goal of sustainable development. Al-Shirshani explained that Qatar attaches importance to achieving sustainability in the transport, energy and water sectors. Earlier, Qatar had installed around 100 electric vehicle charging stations in connection with the World Cup.
