Qatar Foot: A starter last weekend in Al Duhail’s 6-1 victory over Qatar SC, Edmilson Junior is gradually getting back to his form. Present at a press conference, the former Standard de Liège player returned to his form. He is gradually getting back to his form, he said, and this, after nearly two years of absence.

After several months of absence, Edmilson Junior returned to competition this season. He had to do very in-depth work with the Al Duhail medical staff before he could get his feelings back. Author of 62 minutes against Qatar SC, the native of Liège feels good, even if he is not yet in great shape. And he is ready to go to the front.

“It’s been two years since I played”

In a press conference, Edmilson Junior spoke about his very long absence, especially his rehabilitation which allowed him to get back to football. He is not the only player able to face Al Duhail’s opponents. There are also his teammates because they have benefited from good preparation.

“It’s been two years since I last played in stadiums and I feel like I’m finally on the verge of a strong comeback. I believe we are now fully ready for this match thanks to the hard work we have done under the supervision of the coach and the technical staff. I was out for a long time, but I haven’t been unemployed. I put in a lot of effort during the recovery period and worked alongside the team and the club’s specialists. We had a good training camp, where we focused on improving the tactical and technical aspects. In addition, the last friendly match was an important step in our preparation for the season. But all that is now in the past and the important thing is to focus on the next match,” said the 29-year-old left winger.

Edmilson Junior is ready to take on the challenge

Despite his long absence, he is ready to take on the challenge. He feels good and wants to help his club. “Personally, I have started to regain my level little by little. Of course, after a period of absence, I cannot come back with all my energy all of a sudden. I can play 50 minutes or 60 minutes, but in the end, the decision is up to the technical staff. What I can say is that I feel ready to give everything I can on the pitch, and the whole team is ready to take on this challenge,” concluded Edmilson Junior who should be lined up this Friday against Al Rayyan.
