Dohaـ The Qatar Red Crescent launched a new initiative to support the Palestinian people, under the slogan “The Lifeline of Dignity and Life for Gaza,” by opening the door to volunteering for medical personnel from inside and outside the country, with the aim of preparing for the urgent medical response and providing emergency health care to the sick and wounded in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Regarding the nature of this initiative, the Director of the Relief and International Development Sector at the Qatar Red Crescent, Doctor Muhammad Salah Ibrahim, said that they are calling on medical personnel, from within the country and from different parts of the world, to join the medical teams that will contribute to providing support to the medical sector in Gaza in various vital medical specialties. .
Ibrahim added that the goal of these volunteer medical teams is to examine and treat thousands of cases that require basic medical intervention within the aforementioned specialties, in addition to performing complex surgical operations that require advanced medical expertise and equipment, and training local medical staff in Palestinian hospitals while providing advanced and urgent medical services.
He noted the importance of this support for the Palestinian medical sector, in light of the severe fatigue and pressure that medical personnel are suffering from, as a result of continuous work for more than a month, in conditions of war and targeting of the health infrastructure, adding that the Qatari Red Crescent will also work to provide the necessary medical supplies and equipment to enhance the capabilities of Local hospitals are suffering from a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies.

The specialties covered by Qatar Red Crescent consultants in the Gaza Strip vary depending on the hospital. At Al Shifa Medical Complex, consultants specialize in cardiothoracic surgery, urology, newborns, gastrointestinal endoscopy, hematology and oncology.
