Enea Bastianini master the third free practice session MotoGP Qatar. He excelled Pol Espargaro and Francesco Bagnaia in the final battle of the session.
Third free practice session MotoGP Qatar 2022 held at the Losail circuit, Saturday (5/3/2022) afternoon WIB. Alex Rins set the fastest time at the start of the session, then was tapped by Jorge Martin.
Joan Mir replaced Martin within five minutes of the session, leaving Suzuki in control of the top two positions. Brothers Aleix Espargaro and Pol Espargaro followed behind the two.
Franco Morbidelli fell mid-session. While the top three positions have not changed, with Johann Zarco entering the fourth position.
Quartararo pushed into the top spot when the session was running for 21 minutes. Brad Binder also poked and snatched the third position from Joan Mir not long ago.
Competition for the leading position heats up entering the last 15 minutes. Johann Zarco had been in the forefront, then Enea Bastianini shifted, then reclaimed the position.
In the last 10 minutes, Zarco was still leading, followed by Quartararo and Rins. Marc Marquez was scattered in 10th place.
Bastianini pushed to the top position in the last three minutes, then replaced by Francesco Bagnaia. Miguel Oliveira is also eyeing a chance in second place.
It was later discovered that Bastianini’s lap, which had made him the fastest racer, was removed. He returned to 11th position. In the remaining time, a number of racers fought for the top position.
In the end, Bastianini proved that his pace was fast and took the top position in the third free practice session. He recorded a time of one minute 53.790 seconds, 0.013 seconds ahead of Pol Espargaro.
Bagnaia had to settle for third place, followed by Quartararo and Binder. Zarco, Oliveira, Mir, Martin and Maverick Vinales round out the top 10. Meanwhile, Mark Marquez finished the session in 15th position, but this result did not affect his chances straight into Q2.
