Due to the extreme summer temperatures in Qatar, instead of the usual June and July, the final tournament takes place for the first time in autumn. The title is defended by the French, who won in 2018 as the fourth consecutive European team.
The championship will kick off on Sunday with a one-off match, from Monday fans can expect a three-a-side football match and from Tuesday even four duels a day starting at 11.00, 14.00, 17.00 and 20.00 CET.
The main groups will culminate on December 2, with the World Cup final scheduled for December 18. The last time it was played was with 32 participants. At the next world championship in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the USA, there will already be 48 teams competing.
