Qatar creates announced sponsorship of the first digital art collection inspired by fifa world cupthus reinforcing its commitment to theto creativity, innovation, arts and culture in physical and digital spaces.
The NFT Collection, published by We Never Walk Alone Football Nation (WNWA-FN) along with the selected cultural program for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, will be launched through Web3 this December 16th.
“This collection will foster creative dialogue, community building and cultural engagement that can help inspire a new generation of creatives and collectors within and beyond our region,” Sheikha Al Mayassa bint said in a statement. Hamad bin Khalifa Al. Thani, director of Qatar Crea.
The directive stated that art and culture “tell the stories of our identity and our collective dreams. Today, more than ever, people are sharing them in the digital realm.”
Qatar Creates’ investment in this digital art collection marks the first initiative of its kind in Qatar, paving the way for affuture digital art projects of the nation’s burgeoning creative industries, the company said.
Only authorized replicas
These NFTs will be i only authorized replicas of the jersey which used the Argentine soccer star Diego Armando Maradona when he wrote the call “goal of the century” at the 1986 World Cup.
Diego’s authentic shirt is now part of the permanent collection of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum and constitutes the most expensive sports memorabilia in the world at the time of its purchase at auction.

In total, 2,494 NFTs will be issued which will evolve and eventually reveal a country (one of 32 participating countries in the Qatar 2022 World Cup), a squad number (representing a player from that country’s team), and a tier ( Blue, Silver Gold).
