Doha: Qatar has appointed a new coach for its U-23 team ahead of major tournaments including the upcoming Asian Games Football Championship. The new coach of the youth team is Ilidio Valle, who has a long experience in coaching, including the position of Portuguese national team co-coach. Illidio Valleau will prepare the host team for the Under-23 Asian Cup in Qatar in April and May next year. The U-23 Asian Cup is also a very important championship as a qualifying round for the Paris Olympics. The national youth team was looking for a new coach after the previous coach Bruno Miguel Al Sadd took over.
Qatar will join South Korea, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan in the Asian Cup qualifiers to be held in South Korea from September 6 to 12. The Asian Games will also start soon after.
