Qatar Airways adds Toulouse to its network with 3 weekly flights

Qatar Airways specifies the contours of its arrival in the Pink City. The Qatari company will connect Toulouse for the first time to its hub, Hamad International Airport in Doha, with three flights per week from July 18.

« The new flight from Toulouse will be operated by Airbus A330-200 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with a departure from Toulouse-Blagnac at 4:00 p.m. for an arrival in Doha at 11:30 p.m. (local time) on the outward journey, and a departure from Doha at 8:45 a.m. for an arrival in Toulouse at 2:40 p.m. on the way back. The airline opened flights for booking this week, with prices starting at 661 euros “says the company.

174 destinations from Doha

Beyond connecting Toulouse with Qatar, the arrival of Qatar Airways will allow via matches to connect more than 174 destinations worldwide, from Doha.

« We have the opportunity, through the establishment of a link with Qatar Airways in Doha, to offer 174 destinations to serve Asia, Oceania or even East Africa in a single stopover. Especially since with its tariff offer Qatar Airways will shake up the market “, commented during the annual presentation of ATB Bruno Balerdi, commercial director of the platform.

“This offer is aimed at both our French customers and our international customers, whether they are traveling for professional, leisure or personal reasons”, adds Philippe Crébassa, chairman of the Toulouse airport management board.

Air Canada launches its line in early June

The fourth French regional airport will also welcome Air Canada from June 2, which will open a line to Montreal with five weekly flights all year round. The launch of this line, initially scheduled for summer 2020, had been postponed due to Covid.

The link will accompany the rapprochement of the two aeronautical capitals in the wake of the alliance between Airbus and Bombardier. With a freight capacity of 70 tons per week, Air Canada’s Airbus A330-300 will also be able to carry many high value-added goods in the hold, including parts for the aeronautics and space industries, or even agri-food and wine-growing. This line will above all strengthen connections to North America. “From the Montreal hub, it will be possible to reach the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico… Air Canada offers 64 destinations within Canada itself and 60 destinations on the American continent,” says Bruno Balerdi.

ATB passes the seven million passenger mark

This makes ATB say that with links to 16 hubs, it will be possible to connect the entire globe from Toulouse with a single stopover. Enough to support the rebound in international traffic while Toulouse-Blagnac airport exceeded seven million travelers last year, i.e. 73% of traffic in 2019 and intends to return to its pre-crisis level in 2025.
