White coat in Luchon, snow 500 meters in the Comminges

The snow should hold on the ground on Saturday, and “It will stay white in the valleys” since the temperatures are cool: ” -6 ° C in Luchon at 10 hours and -1 ° C in Saint-Gaudens ”, notes Pierre Estecondo. On the Toulouse-Blagnac side, 1 ° C was recorded on Saturday morning. ” At an altitude of 3000 meters, we have -16 ° C, these are very winter conditions ”.

But this blow of white at low altitude will be only temporary: ” The snow should melt due to mild warmth from Sunday in the day, before a new phenomenon expected next week, led by storm Bella, a depression that will arrive from the United Kingdom to France ”.

50 centimeters fallen at Maupas!

In the high mountains, the snow has sometimes fallen more heavily. ” The station du Maupas a pris 50 cm snow, ”says Pierre Estecondo. Note that below, “ snowdrifts formed on the roads in the area, where there is a lot of wind and sleet ”.

Ariège resorts and valleys see white

On Friday evening, conditions were quite stormy on theAx-les-Thermes, in Ariège. Here too, the valleys also woke up under a nice layer of snow, from 400 meters.

The road to Andorra cut off

Accordingly, the road to Andorra, very popular on weekends by Toulouse residents in search of tax-free products, was completely cut Friday evening due to weather conditions in the principality. The road remains closed on Saturday morning. If it no longer snows, “there is 20 to 25 cm on the ground, a lot of wind and snowdrifts which are forming, ”said the forecaster from Météo France. We do not yet know when it will reopen.
