North Korea’s foreign ministry said continued US provocations could be seen as a declaration of war.
Ignoring North Korea’s protests and continuing provocative actions against it by the US could be seen as a declaration of war. According to the Korean Central News Agency, this statement was made by the director of the department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kwon Jong-gun, who oversees relations with the United States.
“The United States must understand that the continuation of provocative actions, hostility towards the DPRK, while ignoring our repeated protests and warnings, can be seen as a declaration of war against our country,” he said, as quoted by international agencies. According to the diplomat, in order to prevent the escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula, the US should refrain from deploying strategic assets and military exercises with South Korea directed against the DPRK, BGNES reported.
North Korea said it conducted four tests of strategic cruise missiles in waters off its east coast yesterday, the Associated Press reported.
North Korea’s official KCTA news agency said the four missiles flew for nearly three hours after being fired from a northeastern coastal area, drawing oval and octagonal shapes over the sea, and showed they could hit targets up to 2,000 kilometers away.
