PVD found an unauthorized preservative in the dietary supplement “Icelandic Lichen syrup”

The Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) found the unauthorized preservative benzoic acid in the nutritional supplement “Icelandic lichen syrup” of Ukrainian origin, according to the information published by the service.

PVD discovered the unauthorized preservative during a laboratory control of the product.

Therefore, the distribution was stopped and the nutritional product of Ukrainian origin “Icelandic lichen syrup” in 100 milliliter packages with the batch number “02/07.02.2027” and the expiration date is proposes February 7, 2027, to be withdrawn from sale.

PVD has notified the findings in the Rapid Alert System of the European Commission (EC).

PVD is a state administrative center under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, which carries out state supervision and control of food distribution and the veterinary medicine industry.
