On Monday, the Russian National Assembly added a large number of countries to the list of countries that commit “unfriendly acts” against the country.
Among the countries on the list are all the countries in the EU, USA and Norway, writes the Russian news agency Tass.
The decision comes after a large number of countries imposed sanctions on Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions that Russia is now responding to are aimed at Russian individuals, companies, banks and the like.
This means that Russian individuals, companies and authorities that have bonds in foreign companies will be able to pay foreign creditors in rubles, writes Tass.
– To do this, the creditor can ask a Russian bank to create a separate ruble account, writes Tass.
According to several Russian media, the action also means that all transactions between Russia and an “unfriendly” country will have to be approved by a government-appointed commission.
