Kusuma Wardani’s daughter advanced to the top 16 Korea Open 2023. Putri KW qualified after winning a tight duel against Malaysian badminton player, Goh Jin Wei.
The top 32 round of the Korea Open 2023 women’s singles match between Putri vs Goh. The duel took place at Jinnam Stadium, Wednesday (19/7/2023) afternoon WIB.
A fierce battle occurred at the start of the first game with successive points reaching a tie at 9-9. Putri KW reaches the interval with an 11-9 advantage.
Kusuma Wardani’s daughter began to release from Goh’s pressure after the interval and was able to maintain the points lead. The Indonesian representative closed the first gym with a score 21-18.
Goh took turns dominating entering the second set. The 23-year-old badminton player won 11-5 over Putri KW entering the interval.
Putri KW had time to reduce the lag to 9-11. However, momentum was regained by Goh who immediately took off and ended the second game with a score 21-14. Rubber game!
The third set was tough with the two badminton players chasing each other. Putri won at intervals of 11-8, but Goh equalized at 16-16.
Goh took a 18-16 lead before the women equalized 18-18, 19-19. Putri managed to win two consecutive points and ended the duel with victory 21-19.
This win delivers Kusuma Wardani’s daughter to the last 16 of the Korea Open 2023. This 20-year-old badminton player will face the winner between Lianne Tan vs An Se-young.
