The Center stressed that after Putin’s statement, they turned to the GTS Operator of Ukraine for explanations. The company said that gas imports from Poland to Ukraine for the entire 2021 amounted to 77 million cubic meters, which is less than the daily transit capacity through Polish territory to Germany (95 million cubic meters per day).
“In total, transit to Germany through Poland in 2021 amounted to more than 20 billion cubic meters. In other words, the volume of imports from Poland to Ukraine for the whole year did not even reach the volume of daily transit capacity to Germany through Poland,” the Center stressed.
It is also noted that today Ukraine can receive gas from Poland only by virtual reverse, that is, when pumping gas with a Ukrainian woman to Polish territory.
“For 24 days of December, only 5.7 million cubic meters were supplied to Ukraine from Poland,” the Center said.
