Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a new interview to propagandists, in which he discussed Ukraine. He commented on the state’s aspiration to join NATO, the war in Donbass, the indigenous peoples of Ukraine and even the country’s football uniform designed for Euro 2020.
The conversation of the head of the Kremlin with the host of the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin”, propagandist Pavel Zarubin was shown on the air “Russia 24“on Wednesday, June 9 (scroll to the end to watch the video).
OBOZREVATEL collected the most resonant and contradictory statements of the politician:
About NATO and the threat to Moscow
Putin said that there are no guarantees that Ukraine will not join NATO. If the country becomes a member of the Alliance, the flight time of the missiles to Moscow will be 7-10 minutes.
He also said that he does not share the position of those who laugh at Ukraine’s plans to become part of NATO. “Perhaps Kiev just prematurely announced this,” said the president of the aggressor country.
Putin added that Russia should keep in mind the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO and, with this in mind, build its foreign policy relations.
The head of the Russian Federation also made another propaganda statement: they say that the half of the inhabitants of Ukraine who do not want to join the Alliance are smart people who “do not want to become a bargaining chip and cannon fodder.”
“At least 50% of Ukraine’s residents do not want the country to join NATO,” Putin said.
“Now the American partners say that they did not promise anything to either Ukraine or the Ukrainian leadership, including President Zelensky. How do we know this? You can imagine that the plan for Ukraine’s accession to NATO is being discussed, in any case, no one says no,” – added the President of the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin: Imagine Ukraine becoming a NATO member. The flight time of the rocket from Kharkov or Dnepropetrovsk to Moscow will decrease to 7-10 minutes. Is this a red line for us or not? pic.twitter.com/DCWr2KiJCe

About the war in Donbass
Putin believes that Ukraine “needs to talk to terrorists in Donbass”… This is allegedly not his whim, but part of the Minsk agreements.
In addition, according to the politician, “L / DPR” did not want to put signatures on the specified document, but the Russian side forced them to do it. “We have convinced them that it is advisable to do this,” the Russian president said.
Putin compared the bill of the head of the Ukrainian state Volodymyr Zelensky “On the indigenous peoples of Ukraine” with “ideas of Nazi Germany”… In his opinion, Ukraine “emerged as a product of the Soviet period.”
“It is an obvious fact that the people who came with these territories to the Russian state called themselves Russians. Therefore, to speak of Russians as a non-indigenous people is not just incorrect, it’s ridiculous and stupid,” the head of the aggressor country assures.
The Russian leader believes that international organizations will not react to the Ukrainian draft law on indigenous peoples, since Ukraine is considered more and more in the world as an antipode to Russia and prefer not to touch it.

About the uniform of the Ukrainian national football team
Putin said that the uniforms of Ukrainian footballers, which bear a map of our country with Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk, did not surprise him.
“The uniform of the Ukrainian national team did not bother me. There is no novelty here. We know the position of Kiev. They neglect the expression of the will of the Crimean people,” he said.
