Crown Prince Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman (MbS), offered Riyadh to host mediation talks between Russia and Ukraine who is now at war.

“The Crown Prince explained the Saudi Kingdom’s support for efforts to lead to a political solution that leads to the end (of the war) and achieves security and stability, and that the kingdom is ready to make efforts to mediate between all parties,” the official said. SPAon Thursday (3/3).
MbS made the offer during a telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In the conversation, MbS also reaffirmed Saudi intention to maintain the balance and stability of the oil market and abide by the OPEC+agreement.
Saudi Arabia and most of the Arab countries are the world’s biggest oil exporters because of their proximity to Moscow.
However, Arab countries still support the UN General Assembly resolution yesterday demanding Russia immediately withdraw troops from Ukraine.
Saudi Arabia and Russia are both OPEC+ members. Both countries have an interest in keeping world oil production stable despite soaring prices due to the invasion of Ukraine.
The price of Brent North Sea crude oil soared to US $ 120 per barrel.
“Prince MbS reiterated the kingdom’s desire to maintain the balance and stability of the oil market, highlighting the OPEC+ agreement and the importance of maintaining this agreement,” the SPA report was quoted as saying. AFP.

Since the invasion took place on February 24, more than 300 Ukrainian civilians have been killed as a result of Russian attacks in various cities in the ex-Soviet country.
