He says that the work of the spies is among the most important jobs available. They will not only obtain information from industry, but also facilitate the basis for strategic planning and analysis of international processes, says the president.
The statement came during a visit to SVR headquarters on Thursday, on the occasion of the Russian foreign intelligence service’s 100th anniversary.
Putin himself was a spy in the former Soviet Union’s KGB intelligence service and was stationed in former East Germany in the 1980s.
