/ world today news/ Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the headquarters of the “Dnepr” troop group in the Kherson direction and the headquarters of the “Vostok” group of the National Guard in the LPR, the press service of the head of state announced.

“Vladimir Putin at the headquarters of the Dnieper troop group in the Kherson region heard reports from the commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinski, the commander of the Dnieper troop group, Colonel-General Oleg Makarevich, and other military commanders,” the Kremlin said.

At the meeting, the president asked the military to express their opinion on the situation in the Kherson and Zaporozhye areas and to exchange information.

“I don’t want to distract you from your direct duties related to command and control, so here we are business-like, short but to the point. It is important for me to hear your opinion on how the situation is developing, to listen to you, to exchange information,” Putin said.

In addition, the head of state asked the commander of the Airborne Forces, Mikhail Teplinski, to express his opinion on the situation at the front.

“I know that on behalf of the Chief of the General Staff and the Minister of Defense, Teplinski was on the front line for quite a long time, he made a very detailed report. The Ministry of Defense and the General Staff rated it highly,” Putin said.

The head of state also visited the headquarters of the Vostok National Guard in the Luhansk People’s Republic. There he listened to reports from Colonel-General Alexander Lapin and other senior officers about the situation in this direction.

In both headquarters, Putin congratulated the servicemen on Easter and presented them with copies of icons. Giving the icon to “Dnieper”, the president noted that the icon belonged to “one of the most successful defense ministers of the Russian Empire.”

The head of state flew to the headquarters of “Dnepr” by helicopter, and then reached the headquarters by car. The president also traveled to the Vostok headquarters by helicopter.

In mid-March, Putin held a meeting at the command post of the special military operation in Rostov-on-Don, after hearing reports from the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and a number of military commanders.

Before that, the president visited Mariupol. There he spoke with Deputy Prime Minister Marat Husnulin, who spoke about progress in construction and reconstruction of the city and its surroundings. The head of state also met with residents of the city.
