President Russia Vladimir Putin would threaten to attack the member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).NATO) for their support of Ukraine.

Editor in chief Rusia Today (RT) Margarita Simonyan said Putin would soon give NATO an “ultimatum” for its aid to Ukraine.

According to him, giving arms to a war-torn country free of charge “is participation in a war.”

“One morning we will wake up to find out that last night Vladimir Putin had announced an ultimatum, saying that if F-16 jets take off from these countries’ (NATO) airports continue to strike Russian territory, if weapons are delivered from those countries’ ports, then we will consider that country as a legitimate target of war,” Simonyan was quoted as saying Newsweek last weekend.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine took place, a number of Western countries, especially those that are members of NATO, have indeed sent various logistical assistance to weapons to Kyiv.

Later, the United States and NATO also planned to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The US has also started training Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16.

Russia condemned the move and warned the West of “grave risks” if they dared to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Simonyan added that Russia has the right to declare a NATO country a legitimate war target without an ultimatum. However, he doubted that Putin would do it that way.

The Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko, uploaded a video of Simonyan’s interview on his Twitter account.

Until now, the Russian Foreign Ministry has not commented on Simonyan’s statement that profiteered Putin’s name.

Simonyan is one of the elite Russian state media who supports Putin’s move to invade Ukraine. Last April, he even called for the “total annihilation” of Ukraine and a “nuclear strike”.
