The attempts of the great powers of the West to stop the escalation of the war have been, until now, unsuccessful. the russian president Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with the German Prime Minister, Olaf Scholz, and the French Head of State, Emmanuel Macron, with the aim of seeking agreements and avoid major consequences in the framework of theguerra. The position of the former KGB agent, however, was inflexible: he stated that the negotiations are totally frozen due to the lack of initiative from kyiv, and pointed out that sending weapons to the troops of the attacked nation only “further destabilizes the situation and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis”.

At the same time, the Kremlin said that it is ready to find solutions to avoid food difficulties around the world, adding that it will allow Ukrainian grain exports to take place in a timely manner.
