The report cites Andrei Soldatov, a prominent Russian investigative journalist who has access to internal sources of the Russian Security Service (FSB).
Soldatov said that everything became possible after the invasion. Soldatov revealed earlier this week that President Putin had placed the head of the FSB’s foreign service under house arrest as the “game” of blaming the Kremlin began.
Putin has been widely reported in Western media that he blames the FSB, the post-Soviet KGB successor, for giving him false projections of how the war in Ukraine will unfold.
The FSB had apparently informed the Russian President that Ukraine was weak and would easily surrender if invaded.
It follows claims by Oleksiy Danilov, head of Ukraine’s Security Council, that about eight Russian commanders have been sacked since the start of the invasion of Ukraine.

Speak to Matt Frei at Channel 4 NewsSoldatov said: “Putin became very displeased with the military intelligence coming from Ukraine.”
“Putin seems to be aware that there is no credible opposition in Ukraine to the Kiev government. He can’t rely on anyone in Ukraine,” he said.
The investigative journalist said military officials in Ukraine were too afraid to tell President Putin the truth. –
