All Western missiles delivered to Kiev have longer range and more powerful counterparts in the Russian armed forces.
This is what Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, reports TASS.
“The Russian analogue of all three modifications of [американските ракети] ATACMS is the Iskander missile system, the Russian president said, adding that the Iskander has a similar mass to the warhead in TNT equivalent. “Iskander has more range. The new American PrSM missile is in no way superior to its Russian counterparts in terms of parameters.
Britain’s Storm Shadow, France’s SCALP and Germany’s Taurus have a Russian counterpart — “this is the X-101 air-launched missile,” Putin said. “It has a warhead comparable in power, but vastly exceeds any European system in range.”
Putin warned that Ukraine’s decision-making centers could become targets for destruction by the Oreshnik missile system.
“At the moment, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Russian Army are selecting targets for destruction on the territory of Ukraine, these could be military sites, defense industry enterprises or decision-making centers in Kyiv,” Putin also said.
“But ultimately, we will choose the means of destruction depending on the nature of the chosen targets for destruction and the threats posed to the Russian Federation.”
The head of state added that “the serial production of Oreshnik has started.”
