Today, January 4, President Vladimir Putin issued an order to the Russian Navy via video link to put the Admiral Gorshkov frigate equipped with Zirkon hypersonic missiles into combat service.
“Today we have an important, if not significant event. The frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” begins a long sea voyage, – said the commander-in-chief.
Putin drew attention to the fact that this time the vessel is equipped with the latest Tsirkon hypersonic missile system, which has no analogues in the world.
The head of state stressed that Russia will continue to develop the combat potential of its armed forces, producing promising models of weapons and equipment that will protect the country’s security in the coming decades.
The President of the Russian Federation thanked the specialists of the national defense industry, who have begun serial production of the Zircon hypersonic missile system.
“Now and here, as they say, I want to thank, first of all, the specialists of the military-industrial complex, who developed and began serial production of this unique weapon,” – he said.
Hypersonic missiles “Zircon” surpass any modern anti-aircraft systems of NATO countries, including their promising developments in this area. The strike complex has a range of up to a thousand kilometers, develops speeds up to Mach 9 (about 11 thousand km / h).
