Denis Gorin from Sakhalin, who killed four people and was sentenced to 22 years in prison, is now free
Russia needs fresh meat for its meat grinder for war in Ukraine and therefore uses cannibals, writes the European edition of Politico.
In the best traditions of the late Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Kremlin uses convicted criminals of all kinds as soldiers and pardons those fighting in its war against Ukraine as “Heroes of Special Military Operation”, as Russia calls the war , reports BLITZ.
Two convicted cannibals recently joined the cohort and have reportedly been pardoned by Russian authorities and released, Politico said, citing other media outlets.
Denis Gorin, a cannibal from Sakhalin who killed four people and was sentenced to 22 years in prison, is now free and being treated in a hospital in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Gorin, who posted pictures online in a military uniform with a Z, a symbol of Russian aggression against Ukraine, was convicted of murder and mutilation in 2003 and was released on parole in 2010. He later killed at least more three people and was arrested again in 2012 and sentenced to 22 years in prison. Prosecutors said he ate from his victims.
Another pardoned criminal, Nikolay Ogolobyak, a former member of a Satanist group, killed two young women and then with friends cooked and ate part of their organs in 2008. He was sent to fight for Russia and returned from the war in Ukraine on November 2.
Ogolobyak was supposed to be in prison until 2030, but was pardoned because he fought in Ukraine. His father told the media that his son now lives with his mother in Yaroslavl.
Like many other Russian convicted criminals, Ogolobyak served in “Storm-Z”, a Russian battalion made up of criminals. Ukrainian soldiers recently reported fighting a Storm-Z near Avdeyevka, one of the war’s hot spots.
“I like the news when serial killers, maniacs and now cannibals return home in a hurry from the war. I hope they will eat some more of their countrymen,” wrote Maxim Zhorin, deputy commander of the Ukrainian army, in a post in Telegram.
Russian forces continue their assaults on Avdeevka, destroying the buildings in the city to the ground with the help of guided aerial bombs, said the officer of the “Legion of Freedom”, Major of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Maxim Morozov, informed “UNIAN”.
He notes that it is difficult to know whether this is the third wave of assault on Avdeevka, since the enemy is constantly attacking the city.
“The enemy carries out 10-30 assaults per day with the help of aviation,” Morozov adds. According to him, the enemy’s use of guided aerial bombs, which have a huge charge and can be used to destroy tall buildings and premises where Ukrainian fighters are located, has increased.
“The Russians want to completely destroy Avdeevka, to destroy it to the foundations of the homes,” he adds.
Morozov emphasizes that the number of assaults is not decreasing, but the tactics of action are changing. According to him, the enemy has started to use small tactical groups more.
“In the last few days, these assaults in small groups have already acquired the character of regular attacks. Hence, perhaps, the claim that the third wave has begun,” he notes.
Morozov also reports that Russian forces have increasingly started using kamikaze drones, Lancets, especially at night. According to him, this is done to prevent the movement of the VSU equipment during the night hours, morning and evening.
“Because previously, enemy kamikaze drone operators were active during the day. Accordingly, Ukrainian forces moved mainly at night or in the morning and evening.
Now the enemy is trying to use kamikaze drones with night vision,” notes the Ukrainian officer. At the same time, he adds that the Ukrainian Armed Forces use anti-drone units that try to neutralize these unmanned vehicles.
