Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia fears Ukraine’s entry into NATO because of the “territorial dispute”.

“We have no territorial disputes with either Finland or Sweden. While Ukraine could potentially become a member of NATO, and then Russia would have a territorial dispute with the state in the alliance, which carries huge risks for the entire continent,” he said .

Nevertheless, according to him, the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO is a matter of concern for the Kremlin.
“We will closely follow what will be the consequences of Finland’s and Sweden’s accession to NATO in practical terms from the point of view of our security, which must be ensured in an absolutely unconditional manner,” he says.
