Russian President Vladimir Putin made this clear on Tuesday (12/4/2022), during a press conference with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
“I often get this question, ‘can we speed it up?’ We can. But it depends on the intensity of the hostilities and, however you say it, the intensity of the hostilities is directly related to the victims,” the Russian president said, as reported by RT.com.

He added, “Our job is to achieve the goals set while minimizing these losses. We will act rhythmically, calmly, and according to the plan originally proposed by the General Staff.”

Putin reiterated that Russia’s actions in some areas of Ukraine were intended only to tie up enemy forces and carry out missile strikes with the aim of destroying Ukraine’s military infrastructure, thereby “creating conditions for more active operations in the Donbass region.”

While thanking Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine for their “heroic service to their homeland,” and for protecting Russian interests, Putin stated, “Confrontation with the forces that the West brought in Ukraine, confrontation with radical nationalists and neo-Nazis in Ukraine , is unavoidable and it is only a matter of time.”
