/ world today news/ Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a federal law regulating the activities of collection companies. The document was published on the official Internet portal for legal information, Gazeta.ru reported on Sunday (July 3).
“The law <...> establishes the legal bases of the activity of returning overdue debts to natural persons in connection with monetary obligations,” the document says
It is indicated that the law was previously adopted by the State Duma (June 21) and approved by the Federation Council (June 29).
The law was introduced by the chairmen of the Federation Council and the State Duma Valentina Matvienko and Sergey Naryshkin.
The document directly prohibits collection companies from using physical force and threatening to use it, as well as causing harm to health and property, exerting psychological pressure and deceiving.
At the same time, it is forbidden for collectors to communicate without the debtor’s consent about his debt to third parties, unless otherwise provided by federal law.
