“If Turkey and our potential buyers are interested, we could consider building another pipeline and setting up a gas hub in Turkey to sell gas to third countries, especially in Europe,” Putin said during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Astana.
Likewise, Putin also proposed the creation of a gas exchange in Turkey to determine prices.
Turkey is a logical choice for setting up a distribution point and a gas exchange because the “TurkStream” pipeline still works reliably, Putin said.
“Currently, prices are very high and we could easily adjust them to a normal market level without any political influence,” Putin said.
