Russia and Ukraine will reach an agreement and relations between nations will be restored, although this will take a long time, predicted Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.

The head of state was precise in highlighting that Moscow did not start the war in 2022, because its objective was to end the war started by Ukraine in 2014, and it could not sit idly after Kiev attacked the Donbas in 2014.

He later noted that the objectives of the special military operation in Ukraine are still missing, since one of them consists of the denazification of the neighboring country.

The Russian leader blamed Ukrainian leaders and the West for prolonging the conflict, saying, “Ukrainian negotiators threw the agreements with Russia in the trash after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kiev, and Ukraine, with the help of the United States and “Europe began to prepare for a long armed confrontation,” he said.

The conflict in Ukraine would end within weeks if Washington stops supplying weapons to kyiv, and he assured that he has nothing to talk to his US counterpart, Joe Biden, about the conditions of Washington’s weapons supplies to Kiev.

Russia did not attack anyone, but rather defends itself, its people and its future, he noted.

THE EXPANSION OF NATO

Russia never agreed that Ukraine would join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and that bases of that alliance would be deployed in that territory.

The United States put pressure on other NATO countries by promoting the idea of expanding the alliance to Ukraine and Georgia.

Putin recalled that, despite promises from the West, the North Atlantic alliance expanded towards the Russian borders, and in five expansions it incorporated even former Soviet republics, including Baltic and Eastern European nations.

In their view, NATO members want to negotiate with Russia about the current security situation, but they do not know and cannot understand how to do so.

Russia’s hypersonic attack systems, which have no analogues in the world, are constantly being perfected, but the creation of these weapons responded to the hostility of the West.

NATO leaders try to scare the population of their countries with an imaginary Russian threat, but analysts and even intelligent people realize that this is a falsehood.

The United States today faces many internal problems, which is why it had to reflect and reach an agreement with Moscow, as well as begin to respect Russia, which defends and will defend its interests to the end.

He also recalled that Russia does not have territorial claims against Poland, Latvia or other countries on the European continent, therefore, the news that refers to this is false, said the president.

THE CIA BEHIND THE COUP D’ÉTAT IN UKRAINE

Regarding the coup d’état in Ukraine, Putin commented that he received support from the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which, in his opinion, is a serious political mistake.

Moscow has repeatedly proposed seeking a solution through peaceful means to the problems in Ukraine, after the 2014 coup, and has always been willing to work with any leader in kyiv, even one with a favorable view of the West.

The change of power in kyiv in 2014 could have taken place legally and without bloodshed and, in that case, it would have preserved the Crimean peninsula, he added.

Later, the president specified that, since 2014, the West, led by the United States, has imposed sanctions on Russia in order to choke its economy, but it has been in vain and they themselves have been more affected, especially the European nations.

Last year, Russia became the first economy in Europe in purchasing power parity, although it is the nation that faces the highest number of sanctions in the world.

On the other hand, the participation of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in the world economy surpassed the Group of Seven (G7), and the association is developing at an accelerated pace, even many emerging economies aspire to integrate it.

Putin also recalled that foreign exchange reserves in dollars are reducing even among US allies; Washington’s payment restriction and the freezing of assets in the US currency sent a signal, which provoked protection policies for those affected.

He also stated that the trade exchange between Russia and China is balanced and the parties complement each other in the field of high technologies, energy and scientific development.

Russia often hears “horror stories” about cooperation with China, but notes Beijing’s non-aggressive foreign policy and willingness to seek compromise, he added.

American analytical organizations and experts dealing with the USSR since the Cold War persuaded Washington’s political leaders to create several entities on the territory of Russia, subjugate them in a divided manner, and then use their combined potential for future fighting. against China.

The West fears an economically strong China much more than a strong Russia, the president concluded in an interview that, within seven hours, had more than 60 million views on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
