KIEV – A senior general Ukraine has issued a warning against the latest possible attacks from Russia .

Major General Andrii Kovalchuk said Ukraine was preparing for Russia to again try to invade from the north. He said so in an interview with Sky News.

Asked whether Russian troops would again attempt to invade Ukraine from the north, east and south, perhaps even on Feb. 24, the anniversary of the start of a full-scale invasion of the Kremlin last year, the commander said: ” Yes, we anticipated such an option, such a scenario. We are working on it.” prepare yourself. We live with the thought that they will attack again. This is our job.”

According to Kovalchuk, Russian troops could strike again through Belarus to Ukraine’s northern border, the route to target the capital.

“We are considering an offensive from Belarus at the end of February, maybe later,” said Kovalchuk, speaking at an undisclosed location in southern Ukraine.

“We are preparing. We are investigating. We are looking at where they are gathering forces and means. We are preparing,” he added as quoted by Sky News, on Sunday (18/12/2022).

He also warned that if Russian President Vladimir Putin tries it a second time, using the remaining 300,000 troops deployed over the summer, Ukraine would be better equipped to push them back.

“We lay mines in individual areas and create a reliable defense in certain areas,” he said.

“They (Russia) will not enter again, as they did on February 24 (2022),” he added.
