A working group on international payments has been set up
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the establishment of a working group on international payments, whose tasks will include determining the conditions for transactions with “enemy” countries, BGNES reported.
In March, Russia, the world’s largest producer of natural gas, demanded that countries it considered “hostile” pay for gas supplies in rubles by opening accounts with Gazprombank and making payments in euros or dollars to be converted into Russian currency.
Poland and Bulgaria refused to comply with Russian requirements, in return for which Moscow cut off their gas. The Kremlin says the same will happen to anyone else who does not comply with the new payment terms.
