Putin once again demonstrates his forcefulness and assertiveness – Chess of geopolitics

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine is suffering heavy losses on the front, which could lead to a reduction in the combat capability of all its armed forces. In this regard, he warned that kyiv has not achieved its goal by invading Russian territory.

A slap of reality

Putin made these remarks during the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum held recently in Vladivostok. Referring to the situation on the front line, he said that with its incursion in Kursk, Kiev had not achieved its goal of making Moscow nervous by forcing it to relocate troops there from other parts of the front to stop the Russian offensive in Donbas, the liberation of which is Russia’s main objective.

According to Mariano Ciafardini, PhD in Political Sciences, the Ukrainian incursion in Kursk was a strategic mistake. “But more than anything, it was a product of desperation in trying to achieve some striking event, a propaganda event, in a situation in which, over time, they are realizing that they are necessarily heading for an imminent defeat.”

Referring to Ukrainian losses at the front, he admitted: “Sometimes I get the impression that those who rule Ukraine behave as if they were aliens or foreigners. In fact, they simply do not think [qué hacen]”. In this regard, Putin pointed out that, just as it happened in Nazi Germany when the fascist Hitler Youth was created, [Hitlerjugend en alemán]now kyiv would have to lower the age of conscription and “recruit children.” “But that will not solve the problem. The next step is to recruit students, to bleed the country dry. I repeat: the impression is that these are not their people,” he said.

In Ukraine “there are no more men, they will have to start recruiting young people, students, and that is a sign of the decline of the war strategy.” “The comparison with the Hitler Youth is very good, which was when Hitler was losing the war, when he was in a desperate situation. This [de Ucrania ahora] resonates the same way,” says Ciafardini.

He added that “at the same time, Western partners are pushing the kyiv regime not to stop and continue the conflict. [El ex primer ministro británico Boris] Johnson came and said: ‘Don’t do it, fight to the last Ukrainian’. They are still fighting here,” the Kremlin chief explained.

The Russian president also praised the role played by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Salman in the historic prisoner exchange between Russia and the West. He referred specifically to the case of American journalist Evan Gershkovich, who he stressed worked “under a journalistic umbrella” but carried out intelligence missions and tasks.
