Zelensky said that a stable gas supply for 10-15 years should become a guarantee of Ukraine’s security in the event of the launch of Nord Stream-2.
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about a future contract for gas transit through Ukraine after the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. As he stressed, Russia will adhere to its obligations. On Tuesday, July 13, he announced this in an interview on News24 Russia.
According to him, Gazprom has signed a five-year contract to pump Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine. And, “despite some of the difficulties of today, Russia has assumed obligations under this contract and will certainly fulfill them.”
Recall that the Ukrainian government fears that Moscow will abandon the gas contract through Ukraine after the launch of Nord Stream 2, which is supposed to connect Russia and Germany bypassing Ukrainian territory. Naftogaz stated that the transit of Russian gas is holding back Russia from escalating its aggression against Ukraine.
Formerly President Vladimir Zelensky calls SP-2 a theme for Normandy… We should not forget about the risk that Ukraine may be cut off from gas, Zelensky said.
