Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the Titan-Polymer plant in the Pskov region via video link on Wednesday. Titan Chairman of the Board Mikhail Sutyaginsky at the ceremony asked the head of state for permission to launch. “Enjoy! Let’s get to work,” Putin said.
The President also thanked all the employees of the plant.
“I hope next year we will have not less, but also more launches of such high-tech industries,” said the head of state.
The plant for the production of PET granules (polyethylene terephthalate) is one of the resident anchor points of the Special Economic Zone of Moglino. The production is unique to Russia, allows for the production of all types of polymers and will supply the country with raw materials, which are currently being imported from abroad. Almost 10 billion rubles have been invested in the development of the enterprise.
According to the authorities of the Pskov region, the volume of private investments since the implementation of the project after the launch of the Titan-Polymer plant will be at least 17.6 billion rubles, moreover, in total, after the start of production , it is expected to create more than 500 jobs. More than 200 enterprises cooperate with the Titan-Polymer group of companies, mainly transportation and logistics, construction business organizations producing and trading building materials, and security companies.
