Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for any contacts that would help Moscow achieve its goals – preferably by peaceful means. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by TASS.
He noted that soon nthere have been initiatives by the leaders of Germany and France to contact Putin.
“We heard a lot from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron promising to continue their engagement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to find ways out of the situation, but there have been no such initiatives recently. I heard five or six statements by Macron about his willingness to call Putin for a conversation, but let everyone know – there have been no requests, plans or specification of possible dates for such a conversationPeskov pointed out.

At the same time, he pointed out the readiness of the Russian leader for dialogue. “President Putin was and remains open to any contacts that can help Russia in some way to achieve its goals. Preferably by peaceful means, at the negotiating table, but when that is not possible, also by military means, as in the moment we see,” noted the Kremlin spokesman.
“If we talk about substance, there is a big question mark here. Because it is one thing when you are neutral in relation to the parties to the conflict, and another thing when you indirectly participate in the military actions and declare your intention to increase your intervention, and on the side of one of the participants – in this case Ukraine,” Peskov pointed out.
“How then can we rely on the potential for mediation? It is impossible, this potential is simply lost”he was emphatic.
