Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Astronaut from the United States (US) Mark Vande Hei threatened to fail to return to Earth after Russia made a threat. The head of the Russian space agency Dmitry Rogozin makes the threat in the video uploaded to social media at the end of last February.
Vande’s warning follows US President Joe Biden’s move to impose sanctions on Russia in response to the war the country started in Ukraine.
Reported from New York PostPreviously, Vande was scheduled to return to Earth from the International Space Station in April with two Russian cosmonauts. He will land in Kazakhstan in about three weeks with two Russian colleagues aboard a Russian spacecraft.
Meanwhile, the American National Space Agency (NASA) has not commented on the Rogozin threat. But after Biden’s remarks, the space agency said no changes were planned in US and Russian cooperation on the International Space Station.
For your information, the US and Russia operate separate parts of the station. US astronauts, especially before the advent of SpaceX, relied on Russian spacecraft for their missions.
