Russian President Vladimir Putin said – during a press interview – that the objectives of the military campaign in Ukraine may evolve according to developments in the situation, but they will not change in general.
Putin stressed that the enemy, as described by him (Ukraine), had not achieved any success in the counterattack, and that Kiev’s losses in the framework of the counterattack were close to catastrophe.
He also said that since the start of its counterattack, Ukraine has lost 25 to 30 percent of the military vehicles that it obtained from the West, and that the country’s human losses are 10 times higher than the Russian losses.
Putin added that Russia lost 50 of its tanks in the fighting, some of which could be repaired, while Ukraine lost more than 160 tanks and 360 armored vehicles during the counterattack.
He accused the Ukrainian forces of bombing the Kakhovka Dam with Himars missiles, saying that his country has no interest in the tragedy of the station due to its consequences for the new Russian regions, as he put it.
In another matter, Putin said that “we could have prepared better for the attacks on our border areas,” stressing that if the attacks continued, his country should consider creating a buffer zone inside Ukraine.
The Russian President confirmed that it is difficult for the air defense systems to detect the drones.
He considered that there was no need to declare martial law in the country, but some issues must be worked on more accurately.
