According to the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, European countries both paid and will pay in euros, according to the agreements.
“But at the same time, the final payment will still go to the seller – Gazprom – in rubles, by purchasing Russian rubles for these euros,” he added.
He also called it a “prototype system” of payments in rubles.
