Russian President Vladimir Putin at the anniversary summit CSTO announced joint exercises, and Alexander Lukashenko called for unity of the bloc.
This was reported by the Russian propaganda publication RIA Novosti.
“A whole series of joint CSTO military exercises is planned for autumn, and their number will expand,” Putin said.

Also at the summit, Alexander Lukashenko called for the CSTO to unite. He is sure that if the organization “immediately acted as a united front” – there would be no sanctions.
Lukashenka said that in order to strengthen the CSTO, it is necessary to strengthen political interaction, increase the mechanism of consultations: positions must be united.
As UNIAN reported, on Monday, May 16, the first face-to-face summit since 2019 of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, began in Moscow.
Formerly Kazakhstan assuredthat will not help the Russian Federation to circumvent the sanctions of Western countries imposed because of the war against Ukraine. And Azerbaijan expressed readiness to host the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine at the end of April reported that the members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) do not support Russia and do not express a desire to participate in the war against Ukraine.
