The Islamists involved in the terrorist attack perpetrated a week ago on the outskirts of Moscow tried to flee to Ukraine on orders from an organizer who communicated with them via Telegram, as reported today by the Russian Instruction Committee (IC).
“Those accused of committing the attack (…) reported that all their actions, both during the preparation stage and after their armed attack on Crocus City Hall, were coordinated through voice messages on Telegram with a man who introduced himself with a pseudonym,” the entity reported on that same social network.
According to the IC, “after committing the crime, the terrorists, following instructions from the coordinator, drove by car towards the Russian-Ukrainian border to cross it and receive the promised reward in kyiv.”
“The investigation continues the investigations to establish the involvement of the Ukrainian intelligence services in the preparations and financing of the terrorist attack,” the IC added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin marked the path of the investigation last Monday by suggesting the existence of a Ukrainian black hand after the jihadist attack that occurred in a concert hall in the city of Krasnogorsk, 20 kilometers from the heart of Moscow. , and which was claimed by the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISPK, for its acronym in English).
His Belarusian counterpart, Alexandr Lukashenko, questioned the Russian version by pointing out that the extremists initially tried to escape through Belarus, but “turned” due to the armored border, before being trapped in a forest in the Russian region of Bryansk. close to his country and Ukraine.
This week, Russian Justice already ruled preventive detention for nine people allegedly involved in the attack, four of them direct participants in the massacre, who were charged with terrorism charges and could face life imprisonment.
Russian investigators acknowledge the involvement of Islamists in the attack, but maintain that they received “significant amounts of money and cryptocurrencies from Ukraine” to prepare the crime.
According to the latest official data, the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall has left at least 144 dead and more than 160 hospitalized.
