Putin Admits Threatened with German Tanks in Ukraine, Leveraging World War II

Moscow

President of Russia Vladimir Putin acknowledged that his party felt threatened by the presence of tanks German. Putin alluded to this amid pro-Western plans to send troops to Ukraine.

Reported by AFP, Thursday (2/2/2023), Putin spoke at an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army over Nazi Germany in Stalingrad. Putin drew parallels between the Soviet Union’s struggles in World War II and Moscow’s intervention in Ukraine. He also brought up the threat of German Leopard tanks.

“This is hard to believe but true. We are being threatened again by German Leopard tanks,” he said in the southern city of Volgograd.

“Again and again we were forced to repel the collective aggression of the West,” Putin continued.

Putin also admitted that he was surprised by the attitude of Germany and its Western allies. The reason is, he has never sent any tanks or combat vehicles to their country’s borders.

“We are not sending tanks to their borders but we have something to respond to, and it is not only about using armored vehicles. Everyone has to understand this,” he said.

Because of that, Putin also emphasized that his party was ready to expel the West. He made sure a modern war with Russia would be very different from World War II.

“A modern war with Russia would be very different,” he added.

Since sending troops into pro-Western Ukraine last February, Putin has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear weapons against the West if the conflict escalates.

“Readiness to go to the end, to do the impossible for the sake of the motherland, for the sake of truth is and is in the blood, in the character of our multinational people,” said Putin.
