Put it in a glass of milk .. What do you do when an injury breaks your tooth?

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – We may be exposed to some injuries while engaging in various activities in our daily life, such as climbing stairs or playing sports. But what to do if a specific injury breaks your tooth?

And when you suffer an injury that leads to a fracture of the entire tooth, there are several steps you can take to preserve it until it reaches the dentist, according to a tweet belonging to the official Qatari Ministry of Public Health Twitter account.

Follow these steps in case of a dental injury:

  1. Search by age
  2. Holding the tooth by the crown
  3. Close the sink with a plug, then wash the tooth with cold tap water
  4. Put the tooth in a glass of milk
  5. If milk is not available, you can put the tooth in your mouth between your cheek and gum (be careful not to swallow it)
  6. In the case of small children, it is advisable to place the tooth in a cup containing the baby’s saliva to preserve it
  7. Go to the dentist right away
