Puskás Akadémia only had a narrow one-goal advantage after playing the first match in the third round of the Konferencialiga qualifiers at home in Ararat, Armenia. On the other hand, Fehérvár FC got worse and lost as a guest of Cypriot Omonia Nicosia. According to Puskás head coach Zsolt Hornyák, nothing has been decided yet. The coach of Fehérvár, Tamás Pető, is proud of his players despite the defeat.
Puskás Academy was originally supposed to be in the second round of the Conference League, but its opponent, the Ukrainian Dnyipro-1, went bankrupt in the meantime. After that, the Hungarian team advanced from the duel without a match, as UEFA awarded both matches with a score of 3-0. It was a difficult game, after the break, the opponent managed to put pressure on our defence, but we handled the mud well – the Hungarian coach started his speech.
– Then we added Artem Favorov and Jonathan Levi, with whom our midfield became much more effective. We were based on rebounds, and Jakov Puljic got into the game well too, thanks to Mikael Soisalo he got the chance to score the winning goal in the first half, said the Puskás head coach, Zsolt Hornyákwho issued a warning before the rematch.
– We must be humble, because a 1-0 success is not a confident victory. At home, we have to stand up against Ararat as if the game had restarted from 0-0 – coach Puskás finished his thoughts.
