Pursuing Messi to participate in Kissing the Trophy, access to celebrity chef Salt Bae will be investigated by FIFA

DOHA, KOMPAS.com – fifa is investigating how celebrity chefs Bae of salt and a number of others were granted “unlawful access” to the pitch at the end of the World Cup final in Qatar last weekend.

Salt Bae, a Turkish chef named asli Nusret Gokceseen holding and kissing the World Cup trophy as he celebrates with Argentina’s win over France.

FIFA rules state that the trophy can only be held by a “highly selected” group of people, including tournament winners, FIFA officials and heads of state.

“Following a review, FIFA has established how individuals gained improper access to the pitch after the closing ceremony at Lusail Stadium on 18 December,” a FIFA spokesman said in a statement to BBCSport.

“Adequate internal actions will be taken.”

Salt Bae owns a chain of upscale steakhouses and rose to prominence in 2017 after his meat preparation and seasoning technique became an internet meme.

Many current and former players, including Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham have eaten at the Salt Bae restaurant.

In November, during the World Cup, he posted a video of him hugging FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who sat with him in the VIP chair during the match.

Nusret Gokce was also seen taking pictures with Brazilian legends Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and Cafu.

Messi appeared to be ignoring Salt Bae in the heat of the moment following Argentina’s win as the chef tried to get his attention.
