But where do the two musicians actually come from – and who are they?
Who is “Duo Xasco”?
Vasco José Mano (27) has been a full-blooded musician since his childhood. Born in Chemnitz, the son of a German mother and an Angolan father, he has a Portuguese name. For years he was a student at the local music school, where he also met his “Duo Xasco” partner Xaver. In addition to his work with the TV1868 cheerleaders, he sang in various arrangements and bands for over ten years. Vasco went to Munich to study, where he now lives and works as an IT consultant.
Xaver Krempl (28) has been an enthusiastic instrumentalist since he was five years old. He found his passion through brass music and together with family members and played the trumpet for years. “You learn to listen,” says Xaver, who lives in Burghausen and works in plant engineering. He also played music at music school and has been playing in bands for many years – including “Tempera“, an Irish folk band. He loves country and rock, plays banjo and guitar and enriches the duo’s acoustic songs with his creative guitar solos. Xaver not only provides the bluesy foundation for Vasco’s improvisations, but also alternates with him on the vocals.
“We haven’t reached our limits yet”
The two men complement each other well: for both of them, the “Duo Xasco” is a balance and a welcome change from their everyday technical work lives. They consciously chose music as a hobby: “It shouldn’t turn into stress and compulsion,” says Vasco. At private events like Weddings or other celebrations But they always enjoy playing. They love trying something new and mixing styles. “We still haven’t reached our limits,” emphasize the two, raising hopes for more.
