Purchasing power figures CPB say little about your situation

The CPB does not take into account changes in your life in its calculations of purchasing power. The CPB actually pretends that everyone’s circumstances remain the same: everyone keeps the same job, no one is fired, or works less or more.

The only variables that the CPB does include in the purchasing power forecast are the expected development of wages, inflation and government policy.

For example, are you self-employed in a sector that will still have a hard time next year due to corona and will you receive fewer assignments? Then your purchasing power can fall much faster than the CPB figure. Or are you going to work a few more hours a week? Then your purchasing power can increase much faster.
