JELABUGA – In the Republic of Tatarstan, which belongs to the Russian Federation, there is a school that is famous throughout the country. It offers various experimental programs as part of their studies to the students who attend. However, as it was later found out, children are exploited here and call their parents home in fear.

Alabuga Polytechnic College is established in the city of Jelabuga, which is located in the Tatar part of the Russian Federation. It is attended by students who want to work on the production of first-class equipment in the field of technology in the future. The school attracts them to various programs that work alongside their regular studies. At least that’s what it says in the syllabus. Protocol but informs that the truth is completely different.

Dark-2

One of the most interesting programs is the assembly of Geraň-2 drones, which are actually the Russian model of the Iranian Shahid 136. School students from 15 to 18 years of age can apply for their construction. Shahid 136 and 138 were the first used by Moscow to bomb Ukrainian cities.

Conditions

The school originally promised students a financial reward. It was supposed to be roughly per month 70 thousand rubles per year (686 euros). This is what made an impression, since the school is mainly attended by children from poorer Russian families and also by African children who study here as part of an exchange program. In reality, however, the pupils worked 15 hours a day and received the promised money only after the production plan was fulfilled. Of course, they were not compensated for overtime. Besides, they couldn’t say anything in public about what they were doing. Otherwise, they were threatened with expulsion from the program.

Parents are horrified

It is a textbook example of exploitation. Students construct drones and work is paramount. Studies go sideways in this direction. “After two months, my son called me to take him away from there. Come and get me, otherwise I will die here, he told me on the phone,” said mother Zhanna from Nizhny Novgorod, who did not want to publish her full name. Another mother had direct experience with the environment in which students work. “This was the last straw. I’m taking my daughter away from here. Dangerous substances are also used in the production. Moreover, they forbid the children to tell us about it,” she said horrified.

There are also problems with education. Formally, Alabuga Polytechnic University is not a college. All students are enrolled at Yelabuga Polytechnic College and on paper only supplementary courses. Therefore, the graduate diploma also does not come from Alabuga. All general education subjects are taught by teachers who do not prefer high quality teaching. So the children are educated at the level of the ninth grade of elementary school.

They are already flying

According to the capture of Russian drones in Ukraine, Geraň-2 has been in production for several months. “At first glance, they looked like Iranian shahids, but inside they had electronic modules that the Russians use in their drones,” said experts from Conflict Armament Research.
