Latvian goalkeeper Ivars Punnenovs on Saturday with an excellent performance helped the Langnava “Tigers” team to win the Swiss Premier League (NLA) game.

The “Tigers” beat the “Bern” team with the result 2: 1 (1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 0), stopping the series of five losses and winning the first victory after a break of less than a month.

In this duel, Punnenov repulsed 40 of 41 opponents’ throws. He has participated in five matches this season, in which he scored an average of 2.61 puck and defeated 92.02% of the throws, which in both statistics gives the place in the top eight goalkeepers.

Latvian strikers Toms Andersons and Rihards Melnalksnis, representing the “Tigers” team, remained out of the application on Saturday.

In another game, Denis Smirnov and Sands Smons, Geneva’s Servette, beat Davos 5: 2 (0: 0, 2: 1, 3: 1).

Smirnov spent 14 minutes and one second on the ice, during which time he won one of the three throws and reached a neutral efficiency. Smons stayed out of the application.

Lausanne, represented by Ronald Ķēniņš, is currently in the lead, but still retains the first place in ten games with 22 points. “Servette” with 18 points in eight matches is fourth, but “Tigers” with eight points in nine duels is the penultimate among 12 teams.

Last season, the NLA tournament ended after a regular championship, so for the second time in history and for the first time since 1940, the Swiss champion in hockey was not crowned.
